Vista Trio
About
The Vista Trio at Texas A&M Kingsville
The Vista Trio synthesizes classical, jazz and education in one dynamic showcase of solo, duo and trio performances. Flutist Elizabeth Janzen, originally from Newfoundland, Canada, has performed across the US and Canada as an advocate for contemporary, inter-arts and outreach programs, as well as in Mexico, India, Korea and Germany. Kentucky native Thomas Zinninger brings an exceptional flexibility to the ensemble with his extensive background in both classical and jazz genres. Korean pianist Sehee Lee has worked with international solo artists throughout the US and Korea. Together, the ensemble embraces its unusual instrumentation and sound though advocacy of contemporary music, inspired arrangements of classical works and engaging interactive performances. Drawing on both their individual and combined talents as musicians and educators, the trio has toured Texas extensively with carefully curated programs including The French Connection (woodwind music by French composers), Classical Revisited (transcriptions) and Jazzy Impulses (works/composers inspired by jazz sounds).
