TAMUK Flute Studio
Featuring about 25 students from across South Texas and beyond. the studio prides itself on innovative programming, community engagement and interactive educational opportunities. Members of the studio have represented South Texas through competitions, conferences and internships across the United States and Canada, including California, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, New York, Oklahoma, Utah and Vancouver, British Columbia.
Committed to supporting new works for the flute, the studio has supported commissions by Randy Woolf and Frank Ticheli, and is currently commissioning South Texas compose, Gregory Sanders.
Our annual Flute Day brings world renowned flutists to South Texas and welcomes hundreds of students from across the region for master classes, performances, flute choir and clinics.
